Buying GuideStep 1 of 6MC Granite Countertops Super Store - Buying GuideBy answering the following questions you will be able to understand and select the right material for your kitchen renovation project. MEASURING FOR YOUR COUNTERTOP In order to get the most accurate estimate for your new countertops you may want to measure your existing countertops prior to meeting with a MC Granite Project Manager. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to measure your existing countertops. You can use the graph paper on the back of this page to draw your kitchen countertop configuration and record your measurements. Once completed, you can tear out the sheet along the perforated edge and bring the measurements to a MC Granite location to consult with one of our Project Managers. MEASURE YOUR COUNTERTOP Measure the dimensions of each countertop section in inches, both the length and width, as shown in the examples diagram to the left. Be sure to round all numbers to the nearest half-inch. Record the measurements in the table provided on the back of this page as you measure each section of your countertop. Multiply the length times the width for each section to get the sections area in square inches. Total the area for each section to get the total square inches for your countertops. Divide the total square inch area by 144 to get the total square footage of your countertops. You can also simply record the lengths and widths and a Project Manager at MC Granite will be happy to do the calculations. DRAW YOUR KITCHEN Using the graph paper on the back of this page, draw the layout of your countertops. To aid you in your drawing, each of the squares of the graph paper represent 1’ x 1’ square.
